Ornamental urn and plinth within a semi-formal setting

Mellow stone in this country setting has gathered lichens ranging from grey to yellow to black creating an intriguing age old surface texture. Lichens such as those seen here will only tolerate low levels of pollution through rain. In the town environment stone or concrete items will still weather down attractively though only supporting more tolerant vegetation.
