Design for a narrow garden

Flagstones of Boughton Moor stone are laid flush with lawn to provide a simple walk round to semi-circular patio. A large stone is placed to bridge the rill crossing over to the patio.

Existing raised bed is rebuilt and shaped to existing height. Holistic planting such as Vinca major, Lady's Mantle, Hydrangeas, Thyme, Sage, Lavender, Witch Hazel, Cotoneaster and Rosemary.

Small waterfall sits amongst planting. The waterfall can be seen from all parts of the lower garden. The attractive view and the sound of the water will make the lower garden a relaxing place to be.

Here a series of small wood edged pools drop down to the terrace. This feature connects the upper garden to the lower garden.
Bed of tall bog planting screens hidden water garden from view when in lower garden. The planting in this area will consist of types of Iris, Hosta, Creeping Jenny, Rheum valmatum, Ferns, Pachysandra, Watermint, Lily and Water Forget-me-knot.

Cedar planking provides a comfortable seating area which enjoys the sun. The cedar planking also provides a platform around the small raised pool. This gives access for maintenance and opportunity for play.

Raised wooden sides bed provides a backdrop to the upper terrace and whole garden. The growing conditions will improve due to imported top soil. Medium sized shrubs or small ornamental trees (Acer palmatum 'Dissectum') provide year round colour. Obelisks sit amongst the planting providing structure and interest. A trellis sits at the back with climbers giving colour to the boundary.
