A Lakeside garden - Section B

The drystone wall which is the face to the weir carries to surround this seating area. It retains it at the same level as the top lake, while a gravel path slopes around the other side to reach the levl of the lower lake. The two benches sit on a gravel base with a rustic wooden table. An ideal spot to sit in quiet shade to look back over the lake and garden.

Naturalistic shrub and tree planting is developed along this side of the lake including dogwood, crack willow, hazel and reeds. These will add colour and height to this boundary.

The lower lake is shaped by reeds. To retain this interesting shape and prevent the reeds spreading a shelf is constructed. The surrounding water must be to a depth of 1.5-2m (reeds will not grow at this depth).
