A Lakeside garden - Section A

A bench sited in this position provides a sunny spot to sit. It looks back at the weir and house.

The weir wall carries on to retain this area of planting while the lawn/ground level slopes up to meet the higher level of the upper lake.

The weir is to be faced in gritstone with a natural stone path along the front. Where the water falls there are stepping stones raised so as not to get to wet and slippy. The water then falls through large boulders creating sound and extra movement. The rocks should also edge the path and make you feel secure when walking across.

The reed shelf creates a spur into the lower lake. To highlight this shape there is a sculpture sited here. This will form a focus to the main view from the house entrance and lawn. The sculpture should be quite large and bold so that it can be seen from a distance.
