Courseworks Design Workshop

Offering a fast track route to a brilliant design, this one day on-site design workshop with two members of our design team shall include -

Outline site survey (which we undertake and prepare prior to the design workshop)
Design framework agreed on conclusion of the workshop day with the design then drawn up in the studio and with a detailed design narrative
Artists impressions and sketches of the key elements within the design proposal
Colour image document featuring the proposed materials and products that have been incorporated within the design
Structure and specimen planting plan with associated plant tables
Colour image document depicting the key plants and overall feel of the planting proposals

The ultimate in a personal design commission, featuring our unique unlimited design input with no time restriction - thus allowing ample time to reflect upon our proposals at each stage of the commission.

Detailed site survey followed by an in-depth design ‘chat’

A final design with completed artists impressions, sketches and a detailed design narrative

Initial consultation and on-site survey visit

The purpose of our initial consultation is to view your garden, discuss the options available and how they relate to your own requirements, timescales and objectives. This visit normally takes around two to three hours, during which time there will be the opportunity to inspect examples of our recent or on-going design and build projects, together with photographs of completed gardens.

Upon the conclusion of this initial visit, it shall always be possible to advise of our design fees.

The first stage of the commission would involve our return visit to survey the garden and further our initial dialogue - this is carried out by another member of our design team, as all of our projects are overseen by at least two of our designers - this is hugely beneficial from a design point of view.

Survey visit

This can take up to a day depending on the size, shape and complexity of the plot (and obviously longer for very large or complex sites) and involves accurately surveying, studying and absorbing the existing format (if any). Detailed notes and reference photographs are taken to record the relationship of the house to the garden, overall levels, the boundaries and surrounding views etc. We will advise you of any conditions that are discovered during the course of the survey which may have a bearing on how the design is executed.

Following the survey, we shall then discuss with you your own views and ideas, likes and dislikes etc., thus commencing Courseworks’ interactive design approach which we have found to be so successful.
